Tasty evening led by Marinthe de Hek and Gerard Voskuilen at our partner school ROC Friese Poort in Sneek to complete our joint Erasmus+ project Cook it Forward!
In the training restaurant KIEM, the students conjured up 6 courses and shared their experiences in the project in between. For example, a three-day training in Galway at BIA Innovator Campus and working together with fellow students from chef training courses from Spain, Lithuania and Ireland.
The Cook it Forward way of teaching challenges the students to come up with innovative ways to adapt culinary traditions, old recipes, forgotten regional ingredients and traditional cooking techniques to the needs of the 21st century. Through corporate assignments, they worked directly with food producers such as farmers and fishermen.
Between courses, Marinthe presented us with the developed learning materials for teachers, the professional field and students. Available at www.cookitforward.eu
